I'm Riding For
Anthony Baker-LaViolette
Anthony was 7 when he got sick. We were told it was the flu, it was migraines, it was a sinus infection. Nobody really knew for sure until the doctors checked his optic nerve and told us something didn’t look right. An MRI revealed a brain tumor, and that started the downward spiral. We were given a diagnosis of brain cancer. I couldn’t even say the “C” word. He fought hard for two years against a demon that no child should ever have to worry about: chemotherapy’s, Blood Brain Barrier Disruption, radiation, and weight gain to name a few of the things he had to tolerate. On December 23, 1997 he lost the battle but he won the war. I’m riding to raise money to keep his memory alive and to make a difference and fight kids’ cancer.
My Story
This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Your support will change little lives.
Thank you.
