Luke Liedy
My Story
Luke Liedy was diagnosed with Stage 4 High Risk Neuroblastoma at 20 months old, in January 2018. Luke had a massive tumor growing off of his adrenal gland, metastases to the majority of his bones, and his bone marrow was 98% full of neuroblastoma.
Luke underwent 5 rounds of chemotherapy at UNC Children’s Hospital, followed by surgery and a 6th round of chemotherapy at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Luke was then declared in remission. He underwent radiation and immunotherapy for several months before relapsing with a brain tumor.
After a successful surgery to remove the brain tumor, he underwent nearly 2 years of relapse treatment including chemotherapy, radiation and an innovative curative antibody for brain relapses at Sloan Kettering.
He then took part in a clinical trial Neuroblastoma Vaccine at Sloan Kettering over the course of a year. He has been in remission since November 2nd, 2018, and is approaching the 5 year mark. A mark well worth a celebration.
Luke is now 7 years old and will be entering the 1st grade in the fall. He enjoys nature and spending time with his family and friends.
We are very thankful for Luke’s success on this long road, and pray for continued good health for the entire Liedy family.
