...and the headlines read "EXCLUSIVE: April 22, 2019 Makes History, The Last Monolingual Cherokee, Father of Lisa Christiansen Dies At 88 And The World Lost A Language!" My Dad was fighting Prostate Cancer and though the world lost a National Treasure, I lost my daddy and through his battle he won the war because he gave us each the gift of wisdom, courage, and most of all love! March 6, 1931 - April 22, 2019 It just occurred to me "Tribute Day" is May 22, 2019. This will be the one month anniversary of my Daddy's passing. I Miss You Daddy, ~Lisa ᎦᏗᏠᎡ Christiansen

My Story

5 Aug 2021

Family and Friends,

This September, I am RIDING in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! I learned something new, only 4% of federal government cancer research funding goes to study pediatric cancer, we need to do all we can. I need your help to give these families hope and help find a cure.

After a courageous 3-year-long battle with osteosarcoma Nat passed away last year in April. June 2018 I learned my Dad had prostate cancer at 88 years young, He passed April 22, 2019. Cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

I am raising funds to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

By making a donation YOU give these kids the opportunity to LIVE.

Your support changes lives,

Lisa ᎦᏗᏠᎡ Christiansen

““A Cherokee elder was teaching his young grandson about life. "A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy. "It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil- he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, self-doubt and ego. The other is good- he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith. This same fight is going on inside you—and inside every other person, too." The boy thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?" The elder simply replied, "The one you feed.” ― Tsalagi Tale”
