I'm Riding For
Everyone that cannot ride for themselves
My Story
Have I done as much as possible? I am not sure. Cancer, in the last couple of years, has changed my view of the world. While my health has not individually been impacted - I know others, am close to others, that have been.
I have decided that this year, I will match dollar for dollar, every find raised up to $1000. I am also planning to ensure I am posting my rides, both training and in September. I have lacked executing on this.

Day Four
4 Sep 2024Just over 19 miles in and about 6 miles under pace, heading into today. Honestly, did not think 250 would be hard, but alas, lol. I’m going to try to get in 10 today which will make up 1.67 of those 6.

Day One
1 Sep 2024So I admittedly, I am behind, not necessarily in the miles because today’s not over. But I should’ve had my bikes tuned up and ready to go before today. That being said, I spent a good hour doing tuneups – I still think I need to bring them into a bike shop to get a full tuneup, but I did what I could; replaced the tubes, lubed, etc. I think my handlebar is a little bit off-center due to the move, those movers really messed up mine and Amanda‘s bikes – mine not so much, but Amanda‘s is fully scratched up. But both bikes are in top-notch riding shape and after the tuneup took them for a half mile ride each and it was awesome. It’s been over a year since I’ve ridden on the road bike. True, these aren’t road bikes in the sense that I’m going to be going 25 miles an hour, but these are cruisers from Electra and I love them. Amanda said she’d go on a ride with me later tonight, so that’ll be nice.
I’m going to have to average about 9 miles a day to get 250 miles this month, I’m not counting the seventh and eighth because we’ll be camping and I don’t think we’re taking our bikes. tThat’s a lot of miles a day for a non-rider or commuter, luckily I’m excited every morning to get on the bike, whether I’m getting on the trainer later or working out with weights, and taking it for at least a 5 mile spin every morning. Also fortunately for this challenge I can use my miles on the trainer at the gym so I should be good to go, anyway I’m gonna go clean up and I’ll probably post a video video of my ride later which will be a short little ride to Jensen Park.
