I'm Riding For
Kyle Humphries (1993-2022)

I'm tributing my ride this year to a great young man who was taken from us far too soon. Kyle passed away earlier this year from Sarcoma at the young age of 29. While I never had the opportunity to coach Kyle in wrestling, I've had the pleasure of coaching his little brother Elliott for many years. Kyle, his brother Connor, and his father Scott have joined me in the corner to coach many kids in our youth and high school program. Kyle had a positive outlook on life and was a great example of a champion on and off the mat. When my legs start telling me it's time to stop pedaling, I'll use the pain I know Kyle was suffering from to keep pushing me along for this year's ride.
My Story
My motivation for this year’s Great Cycle Challenge to “fight kid’s cancer” comes from a loss in my wrestling family. I'm tributing my ride to a great young man who was taken from us far too soon. When my legs start telling me it's time to stop pedaling, I'll use the pain I know Kyle was suffering from to keep pushing me along for this year's ride.
This is my 3rd consecutive year riding in the GCC, and I’ve logged 1,600+ miles and raised over $18,000. This year, my goal is to ride at least 500 miles in September while raising $10,000. Please consider helping me crush my goals and cancer!
THANK YOU!
