KENNY MONT

This year for GCC, I am riding in honor of my brother in law Kenny Mont. We joined the Army a couple months apart and served at Fort Knox, KY together. We sailed the Illinois river from Peoria to the Mississippi in my 23' sailboat. I remember fishing at night along the river, and changing a starter on a car in a parking lot in the middle of winter in 6 inches of snow. We would sit at Steak & Shake for hours in the evening drinking coffee and just talking. If you were to mention his name to anyone that knew him you would see a smile and hear a comment about what a wonderful person he was and how he made their life better. I feel honored to have known you. You left this life way to early and I miss you.

This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
