This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to FIGHT cancer!

Did you know that we, African Americans, have the highest mortality rate of any any racial and ethnic group for all cancers combined.

From 2012-2016, African American men were 1.2 times and 1.7 times, respectively, more likely to have new cases of colon and prostate cancer, as compared to non-Hispanic white men.

African American women are twice as likely to be diagnosed with stomach cancer, and they are 2.2 times as likely to die from stomach cancer, as compared to non-Hispanic white women.

Every little bit helps, so I am raising funds through my challenge to help support the Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
