I'm Riding For
Thomas Rouse
This year I am riding in honor of all of the kids in the fight and for my dear friend, Thomas Rouse. He was diagnosed in April 2024 with angiosarcoma, a very rare form of cancer. He courageously fought this terrible disease and won the victory when Jesus welcomed him to his eternal home on September 6. I am proud to ride in honor of him and all of the kids.
My Story
I am excited to ride again in the Great Cycle Challenge! This is my eighth year participating, and I look forward to riding again to help in the fight against children’s cancer!
Cancer has impacted many of my friends and family and is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week. Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
Funds raised through my challenge support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

My Challenge

30 Sep 2026It was a beautiful day for my last ride for the 2026 GCC! 🙌 Lynn, Lou and I had a great ride! I only had 19 miles left to reach my goal, but we added 6 more “sprinkle/sparkle” miles! It truly was a perfect day for an outdoor ride! Lynn paced our ride perfectly! I’m glad that Lou joined us! She has been a longtime supporter of my GCC for many years. I missed riding with all of the other Big Wheel members this year, but my schedule has not worked out to do so. Hopefully we can have a victory ride soon! 🚴♀️
Thank you all for your support this year! It has been challenging, but I have officially exceeded my mileage and donation goals! 🙌🎉 I appreciate all of your prayers and encouragement, too! Please continue to keep all of the kids in your prayers as they continue in the fight.🙏 If the Lord’s will allows, I will be back next year for my 9th Great Cycle Challenge to continue the fight for the kids! 29 Sep 2026Today I rode two different routes on the trainer and logged another 30.3 miles to my total! Lord willing, I will finish my last miles on Tuesday!
While I was riding, I was thinking of all of the kids fighting for their lives. Sadly this year two of the ambassadors in this photo have passed away. Lincoln and Kylie were awesome ambassadors for the GCC. Please keep their families in your thoughts and prayers.

Your support will help Dr. John Maris at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia launch a new trial testing a next-gen, vaccine-boosted immunotherapy to treat high-risk neuroblastoma.
Your support will help researchers at Dana-Farber get ahead of relapse by using 'liquid biopsy' to spot a cancer's recurrence in the blood – even before it can be seen on a scan.
Your support will help fund Dr. Brian Fisher at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia understand how the immune system recovers after leukemia treatment and ways to protect children from potentially deadly infections.

27 Sep 2026We started our ride early today to get it done before the winds got to be too much. Lynn did a great job navigating us around the countryside. There were a few headwind and uphill challenges, but we had an awesome ride in spite of the conditions! It was my longest ride of the Challenge! I am so thankful for all of his support and encouragement! 🙏🙌❤️
While riding,my thoughts were of all the kids currently fighting cancer. I saw a local news segment about a 5-year old boy, Tucker Honeycutt, who will be undergoing surgery for a brain tumor on Monday at Duke. Please keep him, his family and those caring for him in your prayers. 🙏❤️🩹🙏
I have 50 miles remaining and will hopefully finish on Tuesday! Let’s finish strong for these brave warriors in the fight! 🙏🚴♀️🙌
