I'm Riding For
Joyce Knudsen
My mother Joyce died from lymphatic metastatic brain cancer. She was only 52 years of age. Prior to her passing, she bore and raised 10 sons. Her greatest achievement was teaching them through example to have faith in their Savior Jesus Christ and a testimony of the truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. With her husband, four of her ten sons, and some of her friends in the room, she said about 3 months prior to her passing, "I think the thing that would hurt me most is for them [her sons] to not have a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ." This is her legacy. As she suffered with cancer for more than a year, she always kept faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and always kept her main concern focused on how her sons were doing and their welfare.
My Story
Unlike most of the campaigns you will see for the Great Cycle Challenge, I'm not asking for monetary donations. I'm just requesting that you donate your time. Visit someone affected by childhood cancer, whether the child with the cancer or a friend or relative of that child.
Write a kind note to them. Give a hug or a smile. Help make a quilt for a child to keep him or her warm.
Your love and service will change little lives and the lives of those around them.
Thank you.
P.S. If you still really want to donate money, go for it.
