My Story

12 May 2026

This will be my 9th year riding in the Great Cycle Challenge! Nothing will slow me down as I feel for all the brave warriors fighting for their lives. And I'm proud to be recognized as a GCC Champion! Any pains I feel on the bike are nothing compared to what these kids go through.

Why do I do it? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week. And a few years ago it got personal since a good friend's granddaughter was diagnosed with a cancerous 5cm brain tumor. She's a fighter and will beat this!

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
