My Story

This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Your support will change little lives.

Thank you.

Chad

  • Day 2
    4 Sep 2021

Day 2 of this challenge. I used a route from Ride with GPS (https://ridewithgps.com/routes/7370165) and had planned to turn around at the Category 4 climb and head back using Ballenger Creek Pike. I had driven Mt. Zion road many times and completely forgot about the elevation change there, so I was definitely sucking air going up those). Stopped at Tractor Supply to get more water, but they only had Gatorade, so got that instead. Headed to the Cat 4 climb and turned around a little before. Travelled back to Jefferson Pike to Ballenger Creek Pike and decided I'd see if the trail I rode on Thursday had dried up. It was dry in most places and I was able to ride the whole trail and go a little further. 20 miles in today, so a total of 31 miles. I appreciate everyone's support so far. I'm almost halfway to my fundraising goal, and just under the amount to earn a free jersey. If you can't donate, please share. Every little bit helps.
