Noah

This is Noah. He has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) Noah is 11 years old and it does my heart good to say that his favorite sport right now is Cross Country! He is one year into his battle as of this week. He is being treated by the caring Doctors, nurses and staff at Peyton Manning's Children's Hospital. Every year my goal is to do what I can to make sure that, one day, no child will have to go through this. To that end, this year I have pledged to ride 660 miles (10 miles for every year I have been blessed to be on this earth) and to raise $15,000 for Children's cancers research. While $15,000 is my goal, as in the past, if I exceed my goal by 50% ($22,500) Noah is prepared to take the razor and make sure he does not miss a spot on my head. Help me make that a reality! :-)

My Story

This month I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because over 15,700 children are diagnosed with some form of cancer every year.

This will be my eleventh year riding in the Great Cycle Challenge. And throughout the years I have teamed up with Joe, Avery, Lucas, Samuel and Logan. And the one thing all of these young people have in common is that they all kicked cancer's butt! Three years ago I rode for Aubrey. This courageous young lady lost her fight with this terrible disease.

This year I am riding for Noah. One year ago this week, Noah was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Since that day his life and the lives of his family members have been turned upside down. He is currently being treated by the wonderful Doctors, nurses and staff at Peyton Manning's Children's Hospital. I will be posting some photos of his battle over the last year, throughout the month.

Got another 20 miles in today. Wind was a bear. Realizing that even thought it is just one toe that is broken, it does make riding a little more challenging, but not nearly as challenging as what Noah and his family have been going through this last year.

Kick Cancers Butt day is coming up this Wednesday. That is the day that donations are matched by the GCC's corporate partners. My goal is to go from ZERO to $15,000 in one day! So spread the word and donate on Wednesday!
