Leighton

In May of 2019 Leighton was taken to the emergency room after having issues with constipation and developing severe stomach pain. Doctors took a CT scan and discovered multiple masses throughout her abdomen, liver, and lungs. Leighton was sent to Phoenix Children’s Hospital and diagnosed with germ cell tumors, which grow from reproductive cells and may be cancerous or noncancerous. Leighton's were malignant germ cell tumors. The good news? They can treat these kinds of tumors. The bad news? Leighton, unfortunately, was one of the children who did not make it. She was an inspiration, a fighter! She helped to give back to the PCH community by collecting food items with her hockey team in November of 2019. They collected so much food they needed a U-Haul truck to deliver it to the hospital. It would help feed families that had long stays at the hospital. She played baseball. She became a large part of the the Phoenix Coyotes, even signing a contract to be an official player. Help me help children like Leighton fight childhood cancer. She fought the good fight for as long as she could. We need more children to survive, to grow up, go to proms, go to college, get married, have their own children.
