My Story

This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Working with children, as an educator, I know that kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.

Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

In Memory Of Shaun

Many of you know of the brave and

determined journey that my niece, Shaundraya Perry Ferguson was challenged to travel, throughout 2023 - 2024.

Many of your own family members, friends, neighbors, co-workers, people you are personally connected to, have traveled, bravely and determinedly, a similar journey.

I have biked, since childhood, and am grateful to still be able to love it, as a mature adult.

As of Friday, July 12, 2024, I completed a 50 mile trek in 4 days, as an amateur.

As of July 16, 2024, I notice this bike challenge to ride, raising funds for children with cancer.

Knowing that I can ride and do some good for some one, I am encouraging myself to join this challenge....all in respect of my niece's fervent desire to win, in the way that was best for her.

I still get lifted remembering Shaundraya's broad, beautiful smile; her kind and loving spirit, and knowing that she is encouraging me to continue to support her, and many other young people, to win through this challenge!!

Come, help me make good of Shaun's brave and determined journey!
