Mason Mazzuca

Mason Mazzuca

Mason began kindergarten during the delayed intensification stage of his treatment. Mason began first grade with his classmates. He even enjoyed a field trip to the zoo one week before he would enter the transplant unit at Children’s. He loved school! Mason was larger than life and taught all who surrounded him to be grateful, to live each day full of joy, to never complain, and never give up. In his six short years he lived more than many will live in a lifetime. All who have been touched by him are ForeverMasonStrong.

My Story

14 May 2020

This June, actually September this year due to the virus, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! I am riding in honor of a child named Mason Mazzuca. Mason was diagnosed at 4 years old with T Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Mason lost his vision in both eyes for approximately three months as hemorrhages blocked the retina from function. After two successful eye surgeries his vision was restored. He entered maintenance in December of 2017 and relapsed that summer. Mason's transplant in November 2017 was uneventful. He began to get back to “normal” at home relapsing just a month post transplant. Treatments were unsuccessful. He was treated in the PICU at Children’s National for five days before he passed away on March 9th 2018.

Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.

Thank you.
