Jill Steddom
Jill is the daughter of a dear friend who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in June this year. If i understand correctly, it had already metastasized to other areas upon diagnosis and the prognosis is tentative, at best.
My Story
So, have been taking it slow with a gimp knee for about a year now….and have been desperately missing my bike. So this September, I am once more taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer! Figure I can do some good for myself at the same time!
Why?
*Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.
*Because kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
*Because little lives count and have the potential to become big lives that make a difference for all of us.
*Because I want to make a positive difference in this difficult and currently somewhat dark world of ours, even if it’s just a small one.
So once again, I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
