In November 2017 I was 60 years old, 267 lbs and a type II diabetic. I began a health journey with the purchase of an e-bike working up to riding 700 miles in June 2018 for my first Great Cycle Challenge. I reversed my type 2 diabetes (14 years after diagnosis) and remain 100 lbs lighter.

I was diagnosed with muscle invasive bladder cancer in October 2023. I had my first PET/CT scan - a technology which I helped develop - where I learned that it had spread to lymph nodes. I am undergoing a recently approved first treatment.

Children's cancers are different than most cancers which affect adults and unfortunately do not receive the same level of funding for breakthrough such as that I am benefiting from . This is the need the Children's Cancer Research Fund serves.

Means to achieve unity of purpose is a great concern these days - realizing a world where we don't lose children to cancer would seem a great place to start. Your generous donations are sincerely appreciated.
