Six years ago, I found this challenge after the loss of one of my cousins. So I rode… and I raised funds in honor of my cousin and my stepmother Gina Reyes. Shortly after, my wife Diane Reyes, her sister and mother where all diagnosed with Breast Cancer. They all fought hard and with surgeries and chemo, that won. However, a few years later, we lost my mother in-law Lydia to Cancer.

Last year, the son of a good friend of mine (and Fraternity Brother) was diagnosed with Leukemia at the young age of 18, on his birthday no less. A senior in high school, varsity baseball and just an all-around great kid, had to stop his life to fight this terrible disease.

He’s won and celebrated his 19th birthday in May!

But many others are not as fortunate and many lose their battles. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it and that’s why this September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

So I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support Children's Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer.
